Dr. Mary Jean Stack PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS
Focus Areas: Dance, Hypermobility, and Orthopedics
Prior to opening Great Falls Physical Therapy, Mary Jean worked as a physical therapist in New York City and Washington DC. She became a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2018. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science. Mary Jean completed comprehensive movement training certification and has taught individualized and group-based...movement work. Mary Jean is also a Certified Expert by the Titleist Performance Institute to better allow evaluation and treatment of golf related injuries. Mary Jean has also taken various continuing education courses including Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, Dynamics Neuromuscular Stabilization and Dry Needling. Mary Jean earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2014 from New York University, where she received the Elizabeth C. Addoms Award for Academic and Clinical Excellence. As an undergraduate at Muhlenberg College, Mary Jean taught ballet and graduated cum laude with a double major in Dance and Russian Studies. Mary Jean grew up in Great Falls, where her family still lives. She attended Great Falls Elementary, Cooper Middle School, and Langley High School. She began studying ballet at the Margaret Haddad Studio of Classical Ballet. In high school, she attended the prestigious Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, DC where she received an Artistic Degree. Mary Jean first became interested in the field of physical therapy following her own injuries as a ballet dancer. As a physical therapist, Mary Jean utilizes her prior dance background to assess biomechanics and movement in both dancers and non-dancers. In 2023, she co-authored the article: Return to Ballet Progression for Dancers After Hip Arthroscopy For Instability or Femoracetabular Impingement Syndrome which was published in the Clinical Journal of Sports Medicine. As a clinician, she understands first-hand the importance of individualized and patient-centered care to enable patients to achieve their personal goals. Mary Jean has particular interest in treating young dancers and hypermobile patient populations. She strives to help all her patients become pain-free and stronger than before their injuries. In her free time, Mary Jean enjoys spending time with her husband, Joey, and their dog, Abby. Mary Jean and Great Falls Physical Therapy were named Top Physical Therapist and Best PT Practice in Washington Family Magazine in 2024. GFPT has also been a repeat winner of Nextdoor’s Neighborhood Favorites. In 2025, Mary Jean co-founded Great Falls Movement Center with Ashley Gilchrist of a trusted movement partner.

Dr. Jaison Alderman PT, DPT, MBA, CMTPT, CDNT
Focus Areas: Spine, TMJ Dysfunction, and Orthopedics
Jaison grew up next door in Loudoun County and earned his B.A in Physical Education, Health Education K-12 from Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, WV. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University in 2011 where he was class President and received the Leadership Award. He also went on to get his Master of Business Administration in 2014 from Shenandoah University. His journey to becoming a physical therapist started in 1993 while playing football when he sustained a season-ending knee injury. Following his meniscus and MCL knee...injury, he underwent a knee arthroscopic debridement procedure. After surgery, he was given an order for physical therapy, where his journey started. Jaison specializes in orthopaedic manual sport and spine therapy. He approaches each patient as a new challenge to provide individualized treatment that is patient goal centered. He utilizes his manual therapy techniques to promote the start of improved functional mobility, which he reinforces with individualized functional movement training to restore patient body mechanics. Over the last six years Jaison has been a continuing education instructor for other physical therapists with the Institute of Advanced Musculoskeletal Treatments, teaching a manual therapy curriculum with a specialization in Trigger Point Dry Needling. He has enjoyed teaching this powerful skill around the country. Jaison is certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling through Myopain Seminars and the Institute of Advanced Musculoskeletal Treatments. He also holds the FMT Blades IASTM Certification, incorporating soft tissue instruments and kinesiology taping. In 2024, Jaison established Sisu Physiotherapy located in Warrenton, VA while continuing to treat part time at Great Falls Physical Therapy. While not in clinic he enjoys traveling, cooking, being a foodie, and all things outdoors. He is an amateur cell phone sunset photographer. He currently lives with his wife, Sandy, and their dog, Java.

Dr. Alesa Deter PT, DPT, CMTPT

Alesa Deter has been practicing outpatient orthopedic PT in the DC metropolitan area ever since graduating with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2010. She has spent over 15 years treating athletes at every level, from youth leagues to professionals as both a clinician and clinic director. She has taken her passion for both Olympic weightlifting and physical therapy and created a dedicated, safe, and progressive space for athletes to overcome injury and roadblocks to grow healthy as athletes and hit...new PRs! Alesa doesn’t just focus on rehabilitating people to get back to their previous abilities, but sets them up to surpass that. She has always been active, but after discovering Olympic weightlifting in 2019, Alesa went from working out and learning alongside her fellow gym rats to coaching athletes from novices to serious competitors. She likes to stay at the forefront of her field and continuously grows to learn new approaches, methods and modalities for helping her patients. Alesa is certified and practices dry needling (CMTPT), cupping, (MFD), Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization Therapy (IASTM), blood flow restriction (BFR), and is a certified Olympic Weightlifting coach by USAW, and was recently certified in the Barbell Rehabilitation Method (BRM). While continuously working with patients for more conventional sports, she has treated and coached weightlifting, powerlifting, and CrossFit athletes at all ages and levels, providing programming and scales for each person. With her free time, Alesa enjoys traveling the world, snowboarding, hiking, weightlifting, coaching and leading an active lifestyle with her husband and dog.

Dr. JJ Kfoury PT, DPT, CSCS
Focus Areas: Ice Hockey, Pediatrics, Orthopedics
JJ Kfoury is a Great Falls native whose initial interest in Physical Therapy started early and came from her career as an elite ice hockey player. She has played all over the country playing in Nationals at age 12 and continued to play through college at the University of Southern Maine. Following her undergraduate studies, she attended the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute for Health Professions where she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Her final internship at MGH turned into her first professional PT position at Spaulding Rehab, one of...the largest and most respected PT organizations in the Northeast. After several years, JJ returned to Northern Virginia to be closer to family. Locally, she has worked directly with surgeons in orthopedic settings , as well as with children of a wide variety as a member of the Fairfax County Public school therapy PTOT (physical and occupational therapy) team. JJ is unique in her ability to treat both adults and pediatric patients. She loves the challenge of helping older adults get back to living their best life. She enjoys treating kids with injuries, athletes, as well as those who have developmental or physical limitations. JJ is the founder of Puck and Recovery PT which creates content for ice hockey players. Her instagram page has become an educational resource for many ice hockey players. In her free time, JJ is an avid skier. She has skied all over the world including Alaska, and heli skiing in the Canadian Rockies. She enjoys helping family and friends train and prepare for their upcoming ski season! When not adventuring, JJ enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends, and raising her son to play ice hockey and ski.

Dr. Kelsey Krause PT, DPT, CDNS
Kelsey grew up in Alexandria, Virginia, where she played soccer throughout her childhood and high school years. She went on to attend James Madison University, earning her B.S. in Kinesiology (Go Dukes!), and later received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University. After graduation, Kelsey worked as a Travel Physical Therapist, taking contracts across the country. She practiced in Georgia, North Carolina, and eventually Washington State, where she enjoyed experiencing the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. While she loved her time...traveling, she’s excited to be back in Virginia to be closer to family and friends. Kelsey is currently working toward becoming an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), with a passion for treating orthopedic and sports-related injuries. She especially enjoys helping patients return to the activities they love most and reach their personal goals. As an avid runner, she has a special interest in working with fellow runners—focusing on running mechanics and strength-based exercises to help prevent and treat injuries. In her free time, Kelsey enjoys running, reading, traveling, and spending time outdoors with her Goldendoodle, Paisley.

Dr. Melanie Seifert PT, DPT
Focus Areas: Vestibular and Neurologic Rehabilitation
Melanie is originally from Colorado and obtained her B.S. in International Affairs with a minor in French from the University of Colorado - Boulder. After a decade working for the federal government in the DC area and overseas, she decided to change careers and returned to Colorado to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Regis University in Denver. Melanie's interest in physical therapy began following her own knee surgeries and broken arm from injuries playing soccer. While attending physical therapy as a patient, Melanie enjoyed the energy of the clinic...and appreciated the importance of helping people regain their mobility. While in PT school, Melanie developed a love for helping patients with neurological and vestibular conditions. Following graduation, Melanie spent several years working in inpatient rehab and helped create neurological and vestibular programs at outpatient clinics in Reston. Melanie has attended numerous advanced courses in neurological and vestibular rehabilitation and obtained her certification in vestibular rehabilitation and concussion from the American Institute of Balance in 2024. In addition to treating individuals with neurological and vestibular conditions, Melanie loves working with older individuals to improve their balance and reduce their fall risk. Melanie's favorite part of being a physical therapist is developing personal relationships with her patients and challenging them to their full potential. When not working, Melanie loves traveling the world and spending time with her husband and two young sons.

Dr. Tom Stormer PT, DPT
Focus Areas: Hand Therapy, Gait and Balance, and Orthopedics
Tom Stormer is a Northern Virginia native who grew up in Springfield, Virginia. He earned his B.A. from Christopher Newport University in Fine Art and earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Marymount University in 2016. His journey to becoming a physical therapist began after a running related injury and surgery led him on his own rehabilitation journey. Pivoting from a career in education and public relations, he decided to utilize his creative and analytical skills to help people recover and pursue the activities they love. Tom enjoys working...with patients of all ages to help them overcome their injuries and impairments. He is ready to implement individualized and comprehensive treatment plans with a focus on orthopedic rehabilitation, sports-medicine, and hand therapy to a diverse patient population with a variety of orthopedic, cardiovascular, and neurological comorbidities. With a specialty in hand therapy, Tom has spent more than 8 years working with local hand surgeons with post operative recovery. He has treated a variety of condition to include hand, wrist, and elbow fractures, nerve and tendon injuries, dupuytren’s contractures, trigger finger, PIP sprains and contractures, chronic and repetitive use injuries, wound care, and injuries related crushing trauma, lacerations, punctures, bites, and burns. His treatment philosophy utilizes an evidence-based multimodal approach incorporating manual treatment, therapeutic exercises and activities, neuromuscular re-education, and modalities to address pain and improve outcomes. Tom has expertise in instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, kiniseo- taping, blood flow restriction therapy, myofascial decompression, and orthosis fitting and fabrication He also serves as the Vice President of the Capital Hand Therapy Association and is a guest lecturer at George Washington University. In his free time, Tom enjoys spending time in the great outdoors. He enjoys hiking, kayaking, and photography! Locally you might be able to find him hiking the Billy Goat Trail or kayaking down the Potomac on the weekends!
Event Coordinator
Lindsay Harper
Lindsay Harper is the Events Coordinator at Great Falls Physical Therapy, where she designs meaningful, welcoming events that bring people together around health, wellness, and education. A native of Northern Virginia and a graduate of James Madison University, Lindsay returned to the area in 2021 with her family and quickly became active in her community, driven by a deep desire to connect with and support others. She brings more than a decade of experience in public relations and event planning, having worked with organizations including NASA, Whole...Foods Market, national laboratories, economic development groups, and education-focused nonprofits. In partnership with a commercial property developer, she led the planning and execution of a retail center’s Grand Opening featuring tenants such as Whole Foods, Lululemon, Dress Up, and Orangetheory Fitness. Her passion lies in using communication to build connection and clarity—particularly in spaces where information can often feel complex or overwhelming. In addition to her work at Great Falls PT, Lindsay is a proud member of The Women’s Club of Great Falls and serves on the Club's 501c3 Scholarship Fund Board of Directors. She finds great purpose in helping local students pursue their academic goals, combining her love of education, people, and service. Whether coordinating a community workshop or supporting a student’s next chapter, Lindsay is motivated by care, curiosity, and a genuine investment in the wellbeing of those around her. Lindsay and her husband Adam live in Great Falls with their three children, ages 13, 10, and 8. Together, they are active coaches and enthusiastic supporters of many local youth sports leagues, including Great Falls Little League, GF Hoops, Great Falls Colts travel baseball, Reston Volleyball, Great Falls Lacrosse and Field Hockey, and Great Falls-Reston Soccer. Lindsay is a proud Girl Scouts co-leader of a Junior troop of 24 amazing girls. She and Adam are also actively involved in their children’s school community at Virginia Academy, both in academic and athletic programs. The family includes their beloved boxer puppy, Jax—full of energy, incredibly sweet, always up for a walk, and happiest curled up for cuddles on the couch. Whether on the field, in the classroom, or at a community event, Lindsay is passionate about showing up, cheering others on, and building strong local roots.

Julia is a Northern Virginia native who is excited to gain experience in the healthcare field, where she hopes to make a positive impact. Growing up, she had a passion for soccer, which she played on travel teams for many years until the 2020 pandemic. As a recent graduate from William and Mary, she is eager to learn more about the field of physical therapy and pursue her passion for helping others. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new recipes, traveling, watching soccer, and relaxing with her cats and dog.

Jessie Jolles is a comedian, writer, director, actress, podcaster, and creator living in NYC. Jessie creates compelling female-driven video content for brands, influencers, and personalities. She has the ability to carry an idea through completion as the director. She was chosen as 1 of 100 female creators from around the world for YouTube’s “Women in Comedy” Program. Jessie has been featured in TIME, The New Yorker, Bravo, MTV, HelloGiggles, Huffington Post, Cosmopolitan, Funny or Die, Betches, Just for Laughs, and more. She was a performer for over...three years at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade and as a standup she has headlined at Caroline’s on Broadway and opened for comedian Hannah Berner on tour. Jessie hosts two podcasts, Happily Ever Heard Of It and Middle Children (co-hosted with Chris Burns). She is a weekly host on The Taylor Strecker Show on Patreon.
